Win Fame DVD

The mega successful 2009 re-make of ‘Fame’, which is released by Entertainment in Video on rental and retail DVD and Blu-ray on 25 January 2010, takes its inspiration from Alan Parker’s Oscar-winning 1980 film.

With its indelible images of students dancing deliriously on taxicabs and with Irene Cara’s hit version of the film’s theme being one of the biggest selling singles of the year, the original ‘Fame’ was as big a hit with the critics as it was with filmgoers.

The 2009 re-make couldn’t be a better or more worthy successor to the original film, taking over £8.7 million at the UK box office, and is once again a riot of energy, explosive music and dance.

It follows a talented group of singers, actors, dancers and artists over four years at the New York City High School of Performing Arts, a diverse, and creative powerhouse where students from all walks of life are given a chance to live out their dreams.

It is a place where a few will achieve real and lasting fame ... the kind that comes only from talent, dedication and hard work.

In an incredibly competitive atmosphere, each student’s passion will be put to the test.  As they strive for their moment in the spotlight, mentored by the very best – and toughest – teachers, they’ll discover who among them has the innate skills and necessary dedication to succeed.

With the love and support of their friends and fellow artists, they’ll find out who amongst them has what it takes to achieve …. fame.

Directed by Kevin Tancharoen from a screenplay by Allison Burnett, the film’s youth cast includes lots of new, raw talent and amazing singers and dancers.

Their instructors include original ‘Fame’ cast member Debbie Allen as Principal Angela Simms, Kelsey Grammer (Frasier Crane in Frasier), Megan Mullally (Karen in Will & Grace), and Bebe Neuwirth (Dr Lilith Sternin in Frasier; How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days).

‘Fame’ has a run time of approx 122 minutes and a 12 certificate.
