Raise heart rates, raise funds, raise awareness

www.macmillan.org.uk/schools

Do you have a New Year’s resolution to get fit? Do you want to get your pupils involved in some challenging and engaging activities? Then look no further than Macmillan Cancer Support’s Big Sports Day.

What’s it all about?

The Big Sports Day gives your pupils the opportunity to take part in fun, sporting activities while raising invaluable funds to help the two million people living with cancer in the UK today. Simply hold your sports day (or PE lesson or lunchtime club) as usual and incorporate a fundraising challenge for Macmillan.

Be a star and jump to it.

This year, why not hold a sponsored star-jumping challenge as part of your Big Sports Day, and try to break the current world record of 51 jumps in one minute? Pupils could either get sponsored per jump, or make a donation to take part in the challenge.

And if a star-jumping challenge isn’t right for your school, check out our website for other exciting ideas.

Spring into action

Register online today for the 2010 event. We will then send you everything you need to make your event a success, including plenty of tips and advice. You can also call 0845 601 1716 to register and find out more.

From sport to support

Don’t let the finishing line be the end of your work on healthy living and cancer awareness. Macmillan has developed two quality teaching packs that will support your PHSE lessons at any time of the year.
